Sorting My Bookshelfs

Hi ...

I was listening to You & I by Shota Shimizu in a cloudy weather while writing this post, and suddenly I want to share to you about my books, no, mangas collection that I collected since I was ten years old, I think.

I began reading many many books since I learn how to read. I hate reading before though, because when I was six, all my classmates are already know how to read. It was my first year of elementary school, I need to catch up reading though, because in my previous kindergarden, they didn't taught me how to read. So, I learn to read with my mother and I was so frustated because it's so hard, but, now I have really massive collection of books. And I love reading so much.

My obsession with manga actually came from my cousin when I visited him for a week with my sister many, many years ago. He had a lot of manga collection that he displayed in a glass shelf. During my visit in his house, I read to much his books, and my mother knew it and bought me my first manga. It's not really a manga though, because it's an Indonesian comic book called Mahabarata. Yes, my mom really into Indonesian culture so she bought me, my first comic book is a mythology's story.

My first ever manga, or comic book.

I used to have mini library so kids in my neighbourhood can come and read or borrow my books when I was eleven or twelve, but they rarelly give it back to me, some of them are lost or if it's back, it's not in the same condition when they borrow it. So, I closed it and another reason is, sitting in dad's garage waiting for people is kinda boring.

I remember before, when I was in junior high, the time I really, really obsessed with manga, every week I need to buy a new manga (yes, this is the time I grow my manga's planet), but my allowance isn't enough to provide my needs of manga, I cut my transportation money so I can save money from it. My house is pretty far away from my school, like 8 or 9 km away, I need to ride an angkot, if you're from Indonesia, you must know it, a not so comfortable public transportation which is a little bit expensive for a student. I walk like 5 km almost everyday so I can save my money, for those mangas ... (that time I realised, I walk pretty fast)

When I was is third year of junior high, it's the last year in junior high of course, I need to concentrate in national exam, so I try not to buy many mangas, but, I rent, borrow it instead. So, everyweek me and my friend going to mangas rental called Shievo, which is near my school, to rent ten mangas with two bonus.

Getting into high school, I'm not buying mangas so much, not even rent it again. I'm more into novel but I share it with my sister. I just bought it like every three months for two or three books, not every week like I used to be.

Back to my bookshelf, when I'm in junior high, I remember I store my book, manga in a tiny shelf that can contain maximum 50 books in it (if you stack it until it's really full), and now I have three and two stories of shelf hanging in my wall and it's full. I don't know where to store my books anymore, hahaha ....

My Bookshelf Condition after sorting.
Why is this so blue, but yeah it's two layers, because I don't know where to place them anymore.
During my sorting, I found mangas that I forgot I have it. Not just manga, but novel, too. There's so much books that I forgot I have and accidentally bought it again so I have double.

Like that, those two are the same title and story but different cover. The blue one I bought in 2013, and the pink one I bought recently. I have more double than that but I gave it to somebody, I don't know, but those novels have nice cover so I'll keep both, hahaha.

So, that's my little adventure of my books. I, myself, can't believe I have that many and planning to collect more book, manga, everything! I just love it. Hope you enjoy this post, see you in the next post, I supposed hahaha ...

Bye ...~
